Close-Stance Dumbbell Squats (Goblet Squat)🏋🏻‍♂️ - Squatting with a close-stance puts more emphasis on the outer muscles of the quads to build good width to your legs! 👌🏽 - Pick up a suitable dumbbell that is at a correct weight which allows you to just about do between 10-12 reps with good form. Hold the dumbbell up in front of your chest and keep your elbows as tucked in as possible. Position your feet close together. As you begin the squat, push your hips and butt backwards until your legs are at or just below parallel, maintaining a straight spine and back. Push back up again through your heels until you get to the starting position without locking your knees at the top 😃👍🏽 - I sometimes like to superset this exercise with leg extensions right after it. But that’s totally your choice 😊
Difference Between Forward & Reverse Lunges! - Forward lunges primarily works the quadricep muscles in the leg because you are pushing backwards which acts the same as a leg extension exercise. Reverse lunges work the hamstring muscles primarily because you are pulling yourself forwards again which imitates a leg curl. - Forward lunges: When you lunge forward, apply all the weight on the toes of your front foot as you push yourself back up again. You can even lift your heels up very slightly off the ground to ensure you are fully pushing with your toes. This will make your quads do all the work in the exercise 👍🏽 - Reverse lunges: When you lunge backwards, apply all the weight on the heels of your front foot as you pull yourself back up. Just like the forward lunge (except the opposite), you can lift your toes up slightly off the ground to ensure you are fully pulling back up using your heels. This will make your hamstrings do all the work in the exercise 👌🏽 - PS. Do you like my dancing? 🕺🏻😁 Used to love doing that move back in school. Inspiration from Dude Love (WWE wrestler). Thought it was a relevant dance move for leg day 😂😃

Gently unfurling my heart as I gaze at the blue skies above is such a life affirming experience. #Camelpose is hands down my favourite way to open my back up as I can work on pushing my sternum up to the sky, lengthening my spine and I can take it deeper into #kapotasanaprep if I want to. A very versatile pose. My throat chakra issues used to make most backbends super scary for me, and camel used to choke me up and make me feel suffocated. Thankfully this practice has been a healing journey in many many ways 🙏🏽 and I have since learned the power of living in my truth. Are your overhead shoulder presses fully working your shoulders?? If you are doing them on a bench with the backrest up and leaning against it, then most likely it is not. - When you do shoulder presses with your back on the backrest, then in order to push heavier weights, you find yourself pushing against the backrest to help you lift the weight. Doing so incorporates a lot of upper chest when done like that to assist the shoulders to lift the weight. Meaning that your shoulders are not working as hard as you think they are, but instead your upper chest is taking a lot of the load. - How do we fix this?? Firstly, pick a lighter weight than you’re used to, drop the backrest down and sit on the bench with nothing supporting your back. Pick up the weight, and with a straight back and solid core, begin the exercise. This way you are no longer getting your upper chest involved in the lift and your shoulders are doing all of the work! 👌🏽😃 - This technique also works your core too by working to keep your body upright while you press the weights above your head. So you get a shoulder AND core workout with this... 2-in-1! 💪🏽😁 - In this video you see the front and rear view of me performing the exercise with no back support 😊👍🏽

This is my favourite triceps superset! 💪🏽😃 - Because the long-head (the largest muscle in the triceps) is usually the most forgotten and least trained, I always tell my clients to start off with the overhead dumbbell extension to target the long-head first while you have the most strength and able to lift the most weight. Perform this with a weight which is heavy enough to allow you to do 8-12 reps only before you almost fail. - Right after doing the overhead dumbbell extension, go straight over to do a rope handle cable pushdown (to target the short-head of your triceps while your muscles are already fatigued from the first exercise) with as little rest as possible! Do these with a heavy enough weight which allows you to fail and burnout at anywhere between 8-12 reps. That is the completion now of one superset. Do these for a total of 3 times! 🔥😁
